FULL PROVISIONING PROCESS

1. Key Ceremony:

   • Objective: Exchange symmetric or asymmetric encryption keys to ensure secure communication. PGP for example.

2. Generation of Operational Keys (OP, Transport Keys):

   • Option 2a: Decide who will generate the A4 key and OP key. OP key is required by Smartjac for OPc generation from a random K.

   • Option 2b: The customer generates a list including ICCID, IMSI, Ki, and OPc.

3. SIM Profiling & SIM Profile Content:

   • Objective: Decide on the content for the SIM profile (input file).

4. Printing Design:

   • Objective: Determine the design for printing on the SIM cards.

5. BAP Cards for Validation:

   • Objective: Create BAP (Before Approval Production) cards for customer validation.

6. Production of Cards:

   • Objective: Begin the production of cards, encompassing both provisioning and printing.

7. Shipping of Cards:

   • Objective: Ship the fully provisioned and printed cards to the customer.

8. Secure Sending of Ki/Opc List:

   • Objective: Securely send the list containing Ki/Opc (output file). Output files contain ICCID, IMSI, Ki, OPc, ADM1, ADM2, KiC, KiD, CHV, PUK generated during the SIM process and can also contain eKi and eOPc instead of Ki and OPc if A4 (transport key) was used to encrypt the Ki and OPc.

9. Import into HSS/UDM:

   • Objective: Import the output file into the Home Subscriber Server (HSS) or Unified Data Management (UDM).

PARTIAL PROVISIONING PROCESS

1. SIM Profile Content (Excluding Authentication Keys):

   • Objective: Decide on the content for the SIM profile (input file), excluding authentication keys.

2. Printing Design:

   • Objective: Determine the design for printing on the SIM cards.

3. BAP Cards for Validation:

   • Objective: Create BAP (Before Approval Production) cards for customer validation.

4. Shipping of BAP Cards and Provisioning Software:

   • Objective: Ship the BAP cards along with the provisioning software to the customer.

5. Training Session:

   • Objective: Conduct a training session to securely generate keys and provision the cards.

6. Production of Cards:

   • Objective: Begin the production of cards, including partial provisioning and printing.

7. Shipping of Cards:

   • Objective: Ship the partially provisioned and printed cards to the customer.

8. Secure Provisioning at Customer Site:

   • Objective: Securely provision Ki/Opc and generate the output file at the customer site.

9. Import into HSS/UDM:

   • Objective: Import the output file into the Home Subscriber Server (HSS) or Unified Data Management (UDM).

   • Once the network operator and the SIM vendor have developed a SIM profile.

2. SIM Profile Document:

   • Document detailing the SIM profile, used to produce the SIMs.

3. Input File:

   • Contains information that automates SIM production, including transport keys to encrypt sensitive data.

4. Output Files:

   • Contains ICCID, IMSI, Ki, OPc, ADM1, ADM2, KiC, KiD, CHV, PUK generated during the SIM process.
